Antique hand-painted advertising sign from the 1920s Van Ysendyk Coffee & Tea. This sign was most likely affixed to the top of a tram, a popular way of advertising at the time.
 
Van Ysendyk was one of the many old coffee and tea companies around the former Zuiderzee that had been renowned since the early 19th century. Unfortunately, like most small coffee and tea companies, the company did not survive World War II.
