Vintage XL Flowerpot VP2 Large designed by Verner Panton in 1967. It has a diameter of 50 cm and is the largest model ever made.
This particular example is an early edition from the 1970s manufactured by Louis Poulsen. Since the reissue, these have been produced by &Tradition, resulting in a significant difference. The vintage examples are made of enameled steel, whereas the current ones are made of lacquered aluminium.
Enamel has a typical deep gloss and great colorfastness.
The large VP2 version is considerably rarer than the smaller Flowerpot models and is becoming increasingly difficult to find in this condition.
This unit is still in very beautiful vintage condition and bears the Louis Poulsen sticker with the old logo (see photo). The wiring was replaced for safety reasons but with the same type of cable.
A beautiful collector's item and a timeless piece of Scandinavian design.
