Iconic Danish ceiling lamp called 'Milieu' from the begin 1970s. It was designed by Jo Hammerborg for the famous brand Fog & Mørup.

The lamp has a sober character on the outside and provides a  very nice light. The outside is colored red and the inside is white.

The lamp has signs of wear that match its age. Inside there are some very fine rust-coloured dots and some scratches on the top. However, these are quite superficial and are not noticeable when the lamp is hanging up. Furthermore, the lamp was fully equipped with new cabling and fitting.

After serving as a saboteur with the Danish resistance during World War II, Jo Hammerborg studied at de Royal Danish Academy of Art after which he worked as silversmith_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_at Georg Jensen. In 1957 he was appointed chief designer at the Danish lighting manufacturer Fog & Mørup  where he worked until 1980. Under his leadership, the company experienced its most creative and commercially successful period. He has contributed to more than 180 different lamp designs, some of which have won international awards. Hammerborg was killed in a parachute jump in 1982.
