Set of 4 chairs designed by Charles & Ray Eames and manufactured by Herman Miller. These chairs have a fiberglass seat with leather upholstery in a brown color. The cockpit has a La Fonda base in chrome.
The chairs are in beautiful vintage condition. The shells do not show any cracks and the leather is also in very nice vintage condition. There are light signs of wear here and there on the chrome, but nothing disturbing (see photo). The chairs are all marked and still have all the original seat covers. One chair has a blue discoloration at the top edge and on one side (see photo)
The name 'La Fonda' refers to the Mexican restaurant 'La Fonda Del Sol' in the prestigious Time-Life Building in New York City. These frames were specially designed for this restaurant in 1961 in consultation with their friend Alexander Girard.
