Beautiful rare antique thread cabinet in wood from the early 20th century. This wooden cabinet with the brand name and logo of 'A La Cloche' at the top has 6 drawers divided into compartments. These yarn cabinets were used in the better boutiques for storage of spools of yarn.
Considering its age, the cabinet is in beautiful condition. Except for 1 wooden slat, all subdivisions are still present. The glass at the front of the drawers is also still present and intact. The haberdashery cabinet shows holes from woodworm (which contributes to the charm) but was treated for this and is therefore completely free from this.
The factory of A La Cloche was located in La Terasse-sur-Dorlay in France and was owned by the company C. Mousset. The company was last mentioned in the registers in 1920. Part of the former factory is still there and is now a museum.
