Very nice and large glass plate with advertisement for the 'Geolux' product range of the company Levis. At the bottom is a stylized painter's character applying paint with outstretched arms with his brush. The original metal supports are present at the back, which, due to the dimensions , give the frame extra strength. The original tax stamp is also still present.

This advertising sign comes from the 1950s and considering its age in beautiful condition. Nowhere is there a crack in the glass, only the paint of the letters 'Geolux' has peeled off a bit in certain places. In combination with the authentic wooden frame, this creates a beautiful patina.

Precisely because of its fragility, this type of advertising is becoming rare at the time.

The Levis company was founded in 1831 by Gustave Levis. In 1835 Gustave Levis received a first award for the high quality of his paint at the exhibition in Brussels. At that time he was the paint supplier of the Belgian railways. In 1960 ging Levis samen met het Franse bedrijf Société Anonyme de Peintures Techniques (SAPT). The company grew steadily and production grew from 4162 tons in 1948 to 35,000 tons in 1973. (Source Wikipedia)
