Beautiful large globe of the famous German brand Columbus from the 1950s. This one is made from glass and not made of plastic and is therefore more valuable. The globe, which is equipped with lighting, rests on a beautiful wooden base. Both the switch and plug are both original and made of bakelite. 
 
The globe was manufactured in the famous German globe factory of Columbus, founded by the Oestergaard family, around 1900. The cartography and topographical editing were in the hands of the cartographers Dr. R. Neuse and Carl Luther.

Considering its age, the globe is in beautiful condition and emits a beautiful atmospheric light. It is undoubtedly a timeless decoration piece in any type of interior.
