Beautiful Bauhaus wall lamp designed by Christian Dell for Kaiser Idell. This rare wall lamp with model number 6716 was made in the 1930s. The industrial lamp can also be mounted on a foot and used as a desk lamp. The shade is adjustable by means of a ball joint.
 
The wiring, plug and bulb were completely replaced. The switch at the top of the shade is still the original one and works fine. The lamp has accumulated signs of wear over the years, which gives it even more character. 
 
Christian Dell was born in 1893 in Germany. He started his career as a silversmith and became leader of the Bauhaus metal workshop at the age of just 29. In the thirties he designed a whole series of lamps for the renowned company Gebr. Kaiser & Co.
