Vintage hanging lamp from the 1950s with the model name 'bologna'. This lantern-like lamp was designed by Aloys Ferdinand Gangkofner and manufactured by the German companyPeill & Putzler
The hanging lamp was manufactured in different sizes of which this is the large model. The sphere is made of white opaline glass with vertical lines.
The lamp is in beautiful vintage condition where the cabling has been renewed.

Aloys Ferdinand Gangkofner was born in Reichenberg (Germany) in 1920. In addition to his activities as a specialized teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, he also worked as a freelance designer at the renowned Peill & Putzler as well as at ERCO Leuchten. Several of his realized designs were awarded an IF Design Award. He also became an Honorary Member of the Academy of Fine Arts in the city of Munich, where he died in 2003.
