Very nice hanging lamp 'Futura' (also called 'Wave') from the famous German brand Peill & Putzler. The wavy glass and the matching head mirror lamp provide a beautiful light effect.
This lamp, whose design is often wrongly attributed to Koch & Lowy, won an IF Design award in 1975.
Peill & son was founded in 1903 and merged with Putzler (founded in 1869) in 1947, continuing under the name 'Peill + Putzler Glashüttenwerke'. Throughout its existence, the company has collaborated with both important designers and other companies such as Raak Amsterdam and Massive. At its peak (1950s) about 1500 people worked for the company. In 2004, one year after their 100th anniversary, the company was unfortunately declared bankrupt.
The lamp is in beautiful vintage condition with some light scratches that are hardly noticeable and are typical for its age.
