Beautiful and heavy enamel advertising sign for John Deere with the very recognizable stylized logo.
At the bottom of the sign is the manufacturer, namely Pyro Emaille, Boos und Hahn, (Ortenberg Baden, Germany).
This heavy billboard is in good condition and has only a few (very) minor signs of wear in the form of light scratches.
In 1837 John Deere, a blacksmith, develops a plow that uses a highly polished steel mouldboard plow to enable farmers to easily pull furrows through the thick prairie soil. A year later he started manufacturing several ploughs.
In 1965, John Deere took over the German company Heinrich Lanz. This billboard was designed to promote the relationship between the two companies.
Today, the company John Deere extends around the world with factories, offices and other facilities in more than 30 countries.
