Exceptional and quite rare set of dining table and 5 chairs manufactured by Herman Miller .

The seats (DAF model) were designed by George Nelson in 1958 . The fiberglass seat with a black hopsak seat is mounted on a La Fonda chrome base. The seat shell was only in production for 6 years (1958-1964).

The dining table (model 650) was designed in 1956 by Charles & Ray Eames . It had a very distinctive design with its pedestal column and spider-like aluminum base. This table is the largest model with a diameter of 114 cm. The black vinyl edge provides a nice contrast with the white Formica top layer.

The whole is in beautiful vintage condition with minor signs of wear that are appropriate for its age. The table has some minor damage to the top, the largest of which can be seen in the photo. The black paint on the base also has normal signs of wear.

The chairs are in beautiful condition with a light patina. There is a spot here and there on the seat, but due to the black color the contrast is not that great.
The fiberglass is also in beautiful vintage condition with only a scratch or small spot in the paint here and there. One chair has several stains on the armrest (see photo), but none of these signs of wear are disturbing in personal opinion. There is no visible crack or similar damage anywhere.

Furthermore, chairs are marked with the “C” and the 3-star stamp, as well as with the embossed Herman Miller logo, which was used for the Cincinatti Milacron productions of the DAF chair.

Herman Miller was one of the most innovative companies in furniture design in those years, and the DAF chair is one of the icons of mid-century modern furniture.
