One of the most iconic designs by Louis Kalff; the 'Bijou' desk lamp. This lamp was manufactured in the 1960s by the Dutch company Philips.
The lampshade is inspired by a UFO, a design that returns a few years later in the former technology museum Evoluon (Eindhoven). This building was also designed by Louis Kalff and has since been declared a national monument.
The lamp is generally in very nice vintage condition. For example, there is no dent and only a few light scratches on the hood. Inside the hood there is a little damage (see photo) that is not disturbing. The cloth is still equipped with the former working wiring with original switch. Included is a Philips head mirror lamp in original packaging.
