Beautiful mid-century tripod cocoon floor lamp from the 1960s.
The shade, reminiscent of George Nelson's 'bubble lamp', was created using a special technology called 'spray-on fibreglass coating', a technique inspired by the silkworm. This is why the lamp is also called the cocoon lamp.
The cocoon lampshade stands on a metal tripod with brass accents. The lamp is in beautiful condition and provides a very nice mood light. There are light signs of use on the tripod that contribute to the patina.
A beautiful lamp that looks great in any type of interior, from vintage to modern.
