Swedish wall rack designed in the 60's by Kajsa & Nils Strinning and manufactured by String design AB.

This wall rack consists of

  • 3 side walls
  • 1 display cabinet with glass doors
  • 1 chest of drawers with 5 drawers and door
  • 3 long planks
  • 7 short planks
  • 1 attachment
  • additional reinforcement pieces

The wall rack is very easy to install with a light and stable structure. An additional advantage of this wall system is that, unlike most String wall systems, it does not have to be attached to the wall. An additional attachment ensures that the rack can be expanded in height (see photos).

The wall rack is in beautiful vintage condition with minor signs of wear that are typical for its age.

Nils 'Nisse' Strinning was a Swedish architect and inventor. Already in 1949 he designed the classic String system. Throughout his career he and his wife Kajsa created objects that made life easier, less cluttered and more practical. In addition to the well-known wall racks, examples are also plate racks, wire baskets, coat racks, etc.

More than 70 years later, String is still one of Sweden's best-selling and most popular designs with international recognition, thanks to its timeless appearance.
