This nicely detailed globe rests on a beautifully shaped wooden plinth. 

 

The globe was made in the famous German globe factory of Columbus, founded by the Oestergaard family, around 1900. The cartography and topographical editing were in the hands of the cartographers Dr. R. Neuse and Carl Luther.


The globe has minor signs of wear (see photo), which is not unusual given its age. This forms a timeless decorative piece in any type of interior
