This rare geography globe was used as a teaching tool to demonstrate the position of the Earth's latitude and longitude markers. In addition to the equator, both tropics (Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn) and Arctic circles are also indicated. The time zones are also displayed.
 
The sphere consists of very sturdy and thick plexiglass. The lead-heavy base (total weight is almost 7.5 kilos) with hammered paint ensures that the sphere remains stable.
