This wall unit was designed in 1949 by Nisse Strinning for String design AB. It is a beautiful example of thoughtful Swedish design that earned it its place in Stockholm's National Museum. In 1954, String won a gold medal at the Triennale in Milan.

All String items are unchanged since the first design and are easy to hang. This allows the rack to be hung and arranged according to your own wishes. It can then be further expanded with shelves and cabinets of different sizes where the side supports can function as bookends.

 The wall rack consists of:

  •  3 metal side supports surrounded by plastic
  •  1 storage cupboard with key
  •  3 wooden planks (depth 30 cm)
  •  2 wooden planks (depth 20 cm)

The wall rack is in beautiful vintage condition with a few light scratches that are barely noticeable. With the shortest wall support, the bottom hole has disappeared, but this has no influence on the sturdiness of the whole. A small piece of veneer was re-glued at the bottom of the cabinet, but this is also not noticeable (see photo).

Due to its size, weight and/or fragility, this item unfortunately cannot be shipped via bpost. Please feel free to contact us for our delivery options.
